BUTLER, Alice (Lucash)  Alice passed quietly on November 6, 2017 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home In Chelsea.

She is survived by her son Dick Butler of Stockton Springs, Maine, her grandsons, Andrew Butler of Boise, Idaho and Rick Butler of St. Petersburg, Florida and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alice was born in Charlestown in 1919 as Alice O. Lucash to immigrant parents from Poland and Russia.  She was married to her loving husband, Thomas M. Butler Sr. during World War II, while Thomas served in the U.S. Navy.  After the war they settled in East Boston, where they raised their two sons.

When Thomas retired from Boston Edison Company, they sold their house on East Eagle Street in East Boston and moved to a small bungalow in Hyannis, where they lived until Thomas death in 1997. They had been married for 55 wonderful years. 

Alice moved back to this area to be close to her younger son, Thomas Jr. and settled in Winthrop.  Thomas Jr. passed in 2015. She spent her final years in the Chelsea Home where she is remembered for her cheerful and friendly disposition.  She will be missed by all.
