Funeral Mass in St. Leonard of Port Maurice Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston Wednesday morning, April 26, at 10 o'clock. Please go directly to the church.

Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

George was born in Boston and raised in "Eastie". He received his Bachelor's Degree from Boston State and his Master's of Education from the University of Massachusetts. He then went on to teach special education as well as physical education at both East Boston and Charlestown High School(s). Also an avid athlete himself, he found his true calling as a coach in football, hockey, and baseball and won multiple championships in his 30 years. 

After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, listening to his music from disco to soft rock to Jimmy Buffett, as well as his most recent past-time of playing pickleball. 

He always lit up a room with his smile and larger than life personality. He told amazing stories of his experiences and touched many lives through his work. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, friends, co-workers, students, and even his acquaintances.
