D'ELIA, Hanna Mai (Guiney) Formerly of County Cork, Ireland, Malden and East Boston, passed in Chelsea on September 27, 2024. Beloved daughter of the late Mary (Lane) Guiney-Broderick and Daniel Guiney.
Loving mother of Michelle Cassista of Hopkington and Mark D'Elia of Chelsea. Sister of Bridget "Breda" Sullivan of East Boston, Nora Murphy, Joseph and Cornelius Guiney, Jamie, Charles and Liam Broderick, all of Ireland. Longtime companion of Michael O'Driscoll. Former wife of the late Anthony "Tony" D'Elia
Also survived by four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special cousin Mary Scanell of Ireland.
Visiting hours in the Magrath Funeral Home, 336 Chelsea St. [at Day Sq] EAST BOSTON Thursday morning, October 3, 9:30 -11:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St., East Boston at Noon.
Hanna Mai was born in Newmarket, Co. Cork, Ireland and came to the United States in 1964. She was a retired 30 year employee of the Archdiocese of Boston, after which she worked for several years at the Shriner's Hospital in Boston.
In lieu of flowers donations in Hanna Mai's memory to the Shriner's Hospital would be appreciated.
