James A. MacAbee

MacABEE, James Alfred  In Saugus, formerly of East Boston, passed peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice on December 11, 2019.  Beloved husband of Mary A. (Culkeen) for over 55 years.

Loving father of Hope Lyons and her husband Michael of Plymouth and Faith Wilson-Russo of Saugus and her late husband John Russo.

Proud "Papa' of Walter and Jacqueline Wilson and Zachary Lyons. Son of the late Mack and Helen (Sullivan) MacAbee

Funeral from the Magrath Funeral Home. 336 Chelsea St. NEW LOCATION [at Day Sq] EAST BOSTON Monday morning, December 16. at 9:30.  Funeral Mass in the Most Holy Redeemer Church, 72 Maverick St., East Boston at 10:30.  Relatives and friends invited.  Visiting hours Sunday, December 15, 3 - 7 PM.

Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody

Jim was a member of the Fitton Council 84 of the Knights of Columbus, Grand Knight 4th Degree of the Bishop Chevrus Assembly.

Jim , also known as "Jim the bus driver" to everyone at the East Boston Social Center, was also former president of IBEW Local 294 at Avis Car Rental. He proudly served in the Merchant Marine and on Boston Tow Boats. Former owner of "Poor Man's Bookkeeping" and was a dedicated volunteer at Horizons House in Wakefield for 15 years. He was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1963.
