John Michael Cannata Sr.

CANNATA, John Michael Sr.  Of Lynn, formerly of East Boston passed at Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday, February 27, 2026.  Beloved husband of the late Joanne (McDonough) Cannata.

Loving father of Daniel Cannata and his wife Alexandra of Lynn and the late John M. Cannata Jr. Grandfather of Arianna and Anthony

He was the brother of the late Anthony Cannata and his surviving wife Margaret. Uncle of Michael Cannata and Tasha Cannata Naso and her husband Craig Naso.

John was born and raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School before attending hairdressing school to feed his passion for style and developed into a lifelong career.

 Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, in the Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks St., East Boston at Noon.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
