John G. Messina

MESSINA, John G. of Rochester, NH, formerly of East Boston, MA passed away on February 26, 2022 after battling with complications of COVID. John was born July 31,1958 to Salvatore Messina and Mariann Castonguay (Tarquinio). John was predeceased by his younger sister Maria  Messina of Palm Bay, FL. John is survived  by his beloved wife of 36 years, Betsy Messina , his son John Messina II and his wife, Laura Messina, his daughter Mikilena Messina and her fiancé, Justin Means, his brother Joseph Messina and his wife, Mel Messina, his 2 granddaughters, Anastasia and Camilla, his close niece Mariann Kollen and her children Arianna and Antonio, nieces Gina, Christina and Jennifer, nephews Joey, Brandon and Sean, as well as many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Memorial visiting will be held in the Magrath Funeral Home, 336 Chelsea St.[at Day Sq] EAST BOSTON on Saturday, March 5, 3- 4 PM.  Prayer Service and Military Honors at 4 PM.

John was raised in East Boston and joined the US Army as a young man. After his discharge he settled in New Hampshire and embarked on a 30 year career in the manufacturing industry.

John was a devoted family man and was well known for his talents as a handyman. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with Betsy in the mountains and going to metal concerts with his son, John and going to drag races with his son, daughter and grand-daughter Camilla.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations in his memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
