Bob was born and raised in East Boston and attended local public schools. He loved all sports but especially baseball, he played on several teams when he was younger.
He had many odd jobs throughout his life but working in several capacities at Fenway Park for many years was one of his favorites as he was present for all the home games to cheer on his Red Sox team members. After saving a young boy who was choking, by using the Heimlich Maneuver, he was presented with an award, as well as the honor of throwing out the first pitch for one of the games.
Bob was a kind-hearted person who would always go out of his way to help others. He always had a story to tell about his many adventures in life. He was resilient and even after his stroke Bob was always out and about cruising around Gloucester in his electric mobility chair always conversing with people in the neighborhood. Bob's family was everything to him and he will be greatly missed by all of them.
