DiMENTO, Ronald F., 89, of Saint Petersburg, Florida passed away in his home with his family by his side on Monday September 19th, 2022. He was born on June 1, 1933, to the late Frank S. DiMento and Annette (Roccia) DiMento in Boston, Massachusetts. Loving husband of Rosalie B. (Andrutis) DiMento for over 61 years of marriage.
He was raised and lived in Everett, Massachusetts for much of his life. As a young adult he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country as an airplane mechanic. When he returned to New England he experimented with a few careers, auto mechanic, printer, restaurateur, before eventually settling in as a title examiner until his retirement.
His passion in life was building with his hands, heart, and mind. He was able to combine all these with two of the most special relationships he built. His most proud creations were building a boat with his best friend the late Philip J. Martinello and a house which became the family home in Sanford, Maine with Gary McDewell.
Ronald loved building friendships and being around people which made him a club joiner. He was a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club, Freemasons, the Shriners, and the Blue Knights. He was always organizing parties and trips with his circles of friends.
He also loved volunteering and community building, which gave him the opportunity to be around people. In Massachusetts he volunteered as an Auxiliary Police Officer and in Florida he drove the shuttle at the Veterans Hospital.
He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie D. Magrath of East Boston, Massachusetts.
Ronald is survived by his most treasured build, his family, including wife Rosalie B. DiMento, also by his daughter Robyn DiMento Clark and her husband James F. Clark of Sanford, Maine, his grandchildren (whom he was fondly known as Pada) Ronald Clark and his wife Meaghan O’Neel, Nicholas Clark and his wife Melissa Clark, and Maria Clark and her partner Matthew Martin, great grandchildren Sienna Clark and Bennett Clark. Also survived by four people he considered his children Gary McDewell, Catherine Callahan, Debrorah Fitzgerald, and Mark Magrath, along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a future date in Sanford, Maine
